Here is a detail from our neighborhood church, with arrows.
Tristan is hosting a Hobbit party for his friends. He is aging the invitations. My philosophy about birthday parties is that the child is doing something spectacular and nice for his friends, not having a day that is all about him.
Note that he invited his school friends in Spanish! We invited three people. When there are so few, you have to find a date that works for everyone. That was not a fun process of pestering people I've barely met. But when it's your kid in a foreign country, you do it anyway. Tristan puts some age on his invitations to Middle Earth. Archery will definitely be involved.
Home-made sealing wax was a bust. Instead of fabric dye, wax and hot glue, we tried lipstick, wax and glue stick. It stuck to the coin we were using instead of the paper. It smelled good though, like chocolaty MAC lipstick.
Now we all have hobbit fever! Winston is making hobbit soup with lots of root vegetables and ripe cheese.
And I have brushed up on my quick draw, that is, getting my camera out and using it. It takes more discipline than you might think.
