Food puzzles for Children and beads

The challenge I have with beads is using up all the odds and ends. My lovely Spanish friend Irene from church is pregnant and on sick leave. Her son Elías pulled out every strand and pretended to put it on. For about three minutes he sat still with beads and cord. Then the spool of cord with a hole in the middle was more interesting as a spyglass.
I love the Sundance catalog for ideas about color combinations and accents.
Plus, things don't even have to be symetrical. I have a knock-off that my mom made years ago that is still my favorite. Here is one I just made.
And after six hours of help from Elías, he finally took a nap and we finished up what Irene made.
We go slowly, correcting each other's pronunciation and grammer, and writing down vocabulary. Her in English and me in Spanish.
How thick do you think our hedge is?  Iwould  have guessed 2 feet. We had to find out because Wyatt shot an arrow in it.  From one side he could see it but not reach it. From the other side he could reach it but not see it.
He stuck the pole in and wiggled it so I could find it on the other side. It is not long enough to go through.
After about three tries he got it in place right about the arrow. Then he could reach in and get the arrow.  Problem-solving is food for growing brains.
